The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine is a non-fiction book by Michael Lewis about the men who made money when they bet against the banks during the housing and credit bubble during the 2000s.
The book was released on March 15, 2010 and spent 28 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list. It was always going to be adapted for the big screen.
And how.
Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carrell will all star in the film based on the book, and the trailer is an absolute doozy:
What's more, the film will be directed by Adam McKay - the man behind the camera for Anchorman, Ant-Man and Step Brothers. The Big Short could be very sharp indeed.
