Joyce's celebrated novel, Ulysses, famously takes place on June 16th 1904. It deals with the lives and loves of a bunch of characters in Dublin on a summers day around the turn of the century. The love lives of these Dublin residents appear to be as complicated as the text itself. So we figured that we would break down the romantic exploits into a medium that most modern readers would be a bit more familiar with.
Leopold Bloom
Molly Bloom
Stephen Dedalus
Hugh "Blazes" Boylan
As is the case in current day, there is nothing more awkward than matching with someone you know. Something that I imagine would be all the more common back in 1904 when there wasn't as many smart-phone users as there is now.
