Tributes have been pouring in after the death of food critic Paolo Tullio. Best known for his work on RTE's "The Restaurant", the Italian made Ireland his home when he was just 18 back in 1968. Tullio died aged 65 after a long illness.
Tullio first broke into the restaurant business in 1977 when he established "Armstrong's Barn" in Co. Wicklow. He moved into journalism to become a food critic later in 1988.
Tributes have been pouring in for the well-loved food critic, whose love of life and food was infectious through his work with Newstalk or on the Restaurant.

Overwhelmed by messages about dear Paolo. Can't keep up, but hugely appreciated. The volume and sense of loss is a tribute to a great man.

In 1991, Paolo Tullio was acting in Gate Theatre. He invited entire cast and crew to his home for real pizza. That was the best day. RIP
