The Lion King was our childhood, there is no doubt about that, and we have the mental scarring of Mufasa's death to prove it. I haven't been the same since that fateful first viewing of Mufasa's demise.
However, it's time to take a trip down memory lane because it has been confirmed that a sequel to one of the greatest Disney films ever made will premiere on The Disney Channel in November.
The film will be called "The Lion Guard: Return Of The Roar" and will follow the story of Kion (Simba's son) as he takes on the role of leader of the Lion Guard, a team of animals whose job it is to preserve the Pride Lands. It's not yet known how Mufasa will appear in the film since he sadly died but one would presume it will be as some ghost lion type figure since James Earl Jones has signed on to voice him once again.
The cast includes Rob Lowe as Simba, Gabrielle Union as Nala, Ernie Sabella as Pumbaa and Max Charles as Kion. Modern Family's Sarah Hyland will also feature.
The movie will be followed by the series “The Lion Guard,” which will be out early next year on Disney Channels and Disney Junior Channels around the world.
WE. CAN'T. WAIT.
