The New Trailer For Rocky Sequel 'Creed' Will Give You A Lovely Dose Of Goosebumps

On November 25th, the Rocky series climbs through the ropes for the seventh time - and it looks like it could be an absolute knockout.

Creed stars Michael B. Jordan (Wallace from The Wire, Vince from Friday Night Lights) as Adonis Johnson Creed, the son of Rocky's foe-turned-trainer and friend, Apollo, a troubled youth who travels to Philadelphia in an attempt to lure a now (finally) aged 'Italian Stallion' into training him.

The new trailer is an absolute treat for fans of the sweet science in particular, with real-life Liverpool cruiserweight contender and Sky Sports favourite Tony 'The Bomber' Bellew's outspoken persona and natural athleticism earning him a role as the film's antagonist, 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan.

And if Bellew looks slick in his new role, so too does pound-for-pound super-middleweight and linear champion Andre Ward, who also makes the transition to Hollywood as a thus far unnamed character who, at the very least, beats seven shades of shite out of young Adonis Creed in sparring.

The newest Rocky instalment will also star Tessa Thompson (Selma, Veronica Mars) as Bianca, who one suspects will fast become Adonis real 'Rock,' particularly when his ring mentor falls ill.

But enough of my guff, here's the trailer in all its glory:

Alright, let's talk about those Easter eggs; Creed chasing chickens as Rocky himself did in Rocky II, only for Rocky to claim that chickens are getting slower. Beautiful.

The young Creed watching tape of his father's fights and wearing an ode to his father's trunks from the original Rocky film. Class.

The pair overlooking the city atop the iconic steps to Philadelphia's Museum of Art. Goosebumps.

After the relative disaster that was Southpaw, Creed looks like it can go more in The Fighter's direction, and produce a modern day boxing film instalment that might even surpass the more-than-decent Rocky Balboa from 2006.

I'm bloody itching for a Rocky marathon now.
