It's seems none of us have learnt our lesson from the property crash. We still love a good house. Whether it be finding a mansion on Daft.ie or marveling at the vision of some lunatic on Grand Designs, there's an obsession with grand abodes that no economic adviser can quell.
So welcome to the first in our weekly series showcasing unreal houses around Ireland and abroad.
This week's choice is a cottage in Kildare which has just gone on the market at €785,ooo. Surely it's the most expensive cottage on this island?
Named Aotearoa House, the ad reads:
AOTEAROAA truly inspiring blend of architectural design with space and light at the pinnacle of its attention to detail. The marriage of traditional stone and natural slate on the external footprint of the house and the contemporary open plan interior a testamentto its design. The solid granite entrance invites you into the centre of the home. You are greeted with an abundance of space and natural light from every direction.
It has six bedrooms, spanning over 300sqm.
It doesn't look half bad outside either.
I must have this house! If you'd like to buy it for me, you can do so here.
