This Fan Theory About Chris Pratt's Character In Jurassic World Is A Doozy

There are whispers from fans of the Jurassic Park franchise that Chris Pratt's Jurassic World character may have played a minor role in the original film.

Makes sense, doesn't it? The annoying, chubby kid's whimsical dismissal of raptors as essentially big turkeys followed by his having the fear of God put into him by Dr. Alan Grant as he is 'playfully' threatened with a raptor claw?

In the 1993 original, Dr. Grant (played by Sam Neill) lectures the kid about raptors and tells him to “show a little respect”. The kid agrees. Now fast forward to Jurassic World where Owen (Chris Pratt) can be heard saying that his relationship with the raptors in the park is “based on respect”.

The annoying kid from the original, however, was quick to dispel such rumours, however cool.

Director Colin Trevorrow made light of the theory when he was asked about it, saying,

“I’m not sure I want to answer because the speculation is so much fun. Let’s not kill the fun.”

If it's not true, I bet he's kicking himself that he didn't think of it.

Rumours of a worldwide Jurassic War might be the perfect opportunity to bring back characters like Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm and Alan Grant himself, and with Chris Pratt's character Owen - who is ex-military - pencilled in for sequels, the next director might just decide to work it into the story arc.
