Two Irish Sisters Realise Their Dream Of Performing At The Moulin Rouge

As soon as this story made it's way to The Sliced Pan HQ all I have been doing is singing "Lady Marmalade" and "Come What May" and I love it.

This is a fairly unique story and pretty cool to boot, two Irish sisters performing together at the Moulin Rouge.

No podía faltar una foto de el famoso Moulin Rouge. Construido en la misma época que la Torre Eiffel, tiene mas de 100 años de existencia y es uno de los símbolos de la noche parisina.

Claudine Van Den Bergh, had been performing on the stage of the most famous cabaret in the world for the last 3 years before she was joined by her younger sister Isabelle last month.

The two sisters who were both born in Dublin have been passionate about dancing from an early age with Claudine beginning to dance at the age of two and Isabelle starting lessons at the age of four. In order to fulfil their dreams of becoming professional dancers in the Moulin Rouge, both women passed an audition in the UK under the watchful eye of Janet Pharaoh, the Moulin Rouge Ballet Mistress.

Claudine and Isabelle 1

They are the only two Irish dancers in a cast of 70 artists from 14 different countries, Isabelle now performs 12 times a week in the current show "Féerie" following three weeks of intense rehearsals to learn all the choreography and master the French Can-can.

"Féerie" is a 2 hour-long show with 1,000 costumes featuring feathers, rhinestones and sequins, a 60 tonne-water aquarium and the famous French Cancan, which welcomes more than 600,000 spectators from all around the world each year.

Isabelle's favourite part of the show is the French Cancan because

it combines [her] dance and gymnastic training and it is full of energy!

Claudine who is well accustomed to the routine of the Moulin Rouge is delighted to have her little sister joining her as they realise their dream together and says she feels at home performing

"especially with [her] sister on stage".
