This is classic 'only in Ireland' behaviour. Culture Northern Ireland shared a picture on their Facebook page taken by one of the two passengers on the route between Derry and Strabane.
Ruairí Connolly took the photo of himself holding an ice cream claiming that the bus driver wanted to do the lotto so pulled into a shop and bought Ruairí and his fellow passenger an ice cream each. What a man.
Since it was posted to Culture Northern Ireland's Facebook page it has received over 33,000 ‘likes’ and 1,369 ‘shares’ in less than 24 hours, surprising Ruairí himself.
Not only is the bus drive a sound lad, he also appears to have played the role of cupid, according to the Derry Journal. Throughout the journey Ruairí and the female passenger began a conversation and as the two got off the bus the driver joked that a romance was blossoming between the pair.
Ruairí got her name but no number but admitted he wouldn't mind if she got in touch. Now THIS is a true love story if ever we heard of one.
