Don't you just hate when you try on something in a clothes shop and then forget you're wearing it? At least it makes for a great headline in the Dundalk Leader.
That's what supposedly happened Sean Smith, who was convicted this week after he left a store without paying for a jacket he was wearing at the time. Smith, who was out shopping with his partner and kids, claimed he tried on the jacket and then just plumb forgot to take it off.
An unfortunate mistake to make. Smith also has 40 previous convictions.
After being confronted he forked out the €16 to buy the coat and has now also been fined €150 for the incident.
