Humanity is screwed. What is wrong with people? Seriously, some people just don't think before they do things which is never a good idea.
You actually won't believe what one Coronation street superfan got tattooed on his ankle - a portrait of Deirdre Barlow (the late Anne Kirkbride).
In a recent episode of Tattoo Fixers on Channel 4, Martyn paid Lou, Jay and Sketch, the tattoo artists, a visit in order to get rid of a 'Deirdre' inking that he got on a drunken night out while his boyfriend got a matching 'Ken' one.
Oh, it gets better, I swear.
According to Martyn, Coronation Street is 'literally my life' and his flat is full of memorabilia from the soap including a life-size cut out of Gail Platt (why anyone would want that is beyond me), the only album in the world from Dev and Sunita Alahan's wedding and a cat named after Emily Bishop.
Needless to say, Deirdre is Martyn's favourite character because, in he loves 'how common she is - a bit like me'
That's nice.
Anyway, not content with his 'Deirdre' tattoo, one day on his way to get a haircut, he stopped into Tattoo Fixers and decided to go one insane step further and get a portrait of Deirdre when she was in jail tattooed on his ankle. Eh, what?
We have all had those days where we pop out for a hair cut and return with a soap character's face permanently imprinted on our bodies haven't we? No? Just Martyn then.
