The 10 Types Of Irish Lads You Will Definitely See On Tinder

Tindering has become a widely accepted verb across the world and has changed the Irish dating scene beyond repair. Where it was once a shameful admission, now saying "Ah I met him on Tinder sure" is almost a source of pride. After all, a date is a date, beggars can't be choosers and all that. Some girls are serial tinder-daters, with one acquaintance going on three dates in the one night! How, like how can you even manage that, when many of us struggle to get a three dates a year.

Irish lads on Tinder can be dodgy at the best of times, so if you are planning on tindering or are already 352 matches in here are some of the ridiculously Irish lads you will see on Tinder, so be prepared.

1. Posing beside a tiger

tiger

You weren't in Thailand by any chance were you? This isn't unique to Irish lads though, girls are also offenders in this case.

2. In a huge group photo with his friends

group

This is a bit harsh but be wary of the one who's first picture is of him with a large group of his friends. If you bother to use the energy to swipe through his next few photos and the remaining ones are the same type of group setting, chances are he's not the best looking so save yourself the effort and swipe left from the get-go.

3. Craddling a sports trophy

trophy

Whether it's the Fitzgibbon cup, the Sam Maguire or the RBS 6 Nations Championship Trophy, lads love being photographed with them. That look of pure elation on their face in the picture can't be matched by anything you can offer so swipe left.

4. Car/tractor lad

tractor

The fact that their car or tractor is their dating app profile picture shows how much said vehicle means to them and there's no way you can compete for their affection. The car or tractor, depending on the photo, will always be number one in his eyes. #John4Massey4eva.

5. Half body shot to show off their six pack

body 1

We get it, you're ripped, but with a lack of a head shot, the chances are that the six pack is compensating for your lack of good looks. If he has kindly supplied a head shot with the six pack, he's confident of his hotness but that usually means he is too into his looks and will be too high maintenance. Forget it.

6. Selfies in the mirror

selfie

Choosing a selfie of themselves in their bathroom or bedroom or any mirror for that matter, as their first picture basically screams, 'I've no friends to take the picture of to pose with me so I'll have to make do with this or else it will be the grey boy shaped no picture background'. Stear clear.

7. Holding a baby

baby

Ya, ok girls go weak for a lad holding a little cherubic baby usually, but when it's their profile picture on a dating app it scare's the shite out of any girl. We weren't looking for a ready made family thank you very much.

8. Team photo

team

Similar to the group shot one but at least they are being fit and active as opposed to falling forward with beer spilling from their hand, or in the case of this photo, are doing both. They have potential so are worth the gawk through the rest of the pictures to find which lad he is.

9. Action shot of a lad during a match

action

Again, we get it, you play sport, regularly but trying to decipher what he looks like without the helmet on is a lot of effort so his next photo better be a very obvious face photo or he's getting the left swipe treatment.

10. Awkwardly posing on top of some mountain

mountain

Lads love a good hike up some mountain, usually in their GAA shorts and Asics runners, with their backpack pulled in so tight its like a turtle shell on their back and their fake luminous green Ray-Bans perched nicely on their forehead while they stand awkwardly with a huge mountain range behind them. Thumbs up are an addition if they feel cool. NEXT.

This seems very critical, but it can be a life lesson to the lads on Tinder. No tractors, babies or Asics runners and you're good to go!
