A rogue seagull caused traffic turmoil yesterday after it took over the Dublin Port tunnel. One witness described it as "2 minutes of hell" as the winged beast swooped in and claimed the tunnel for itself. Reports put the size of the seagull at between one and fifteen feet tall.
This isn't the first time that a seagull has made the news this summer with reports of dogs, sheep and people alike being viciously attacked over recent weeks. Thankfully the newly founded Gardaí 'Anti-Gull Task Force' or AGTF could be called in to deal with the flying menace.
Perhaps the seagull wanted to make a nest of the tunnel; it is nesting season after all. Perhaps it took a wrong turn or maybe, just maybe the seagull in question was simply a jerk.
Regardless, the feathered fiend was rapidly "dealt with" by authorities and the tunnel was able to reopen. The hot topic of gullgate doesn't look like it's going away any time soon!
