The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Star Reveals The Inspiration Behind His Famous 'The Carlton Dance'

Have you ever wondered where the hell they came up with the ridiculous choreography for 'The Carlton Dance'? Well wonder no longer because the answer to all your Carlton dance queries has been revealed, by the main man himself.

Speaking to Variety recently, Alfonso Ribeiro, famous for playing lovably annoying eejit Carlton in the 90's classic 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' revealed the inspiration behind his famous dance citing Courtney Cox and Eddie Murphy as his muses stating

The Carlton Dance was created when it said in the script: “Carlton dances.” It was never even intended to be funny; it was just that he was dancing. The dance is ultimately Courteney Cox in the Bruce Springsteen video “Dancing in the Dark”; that’s the basis. Or in Eddie Murphy’s “Delirious” video, “The White Man Dance” as he called it. And I said, “That is the corniest dance on the planet that I know of, so why don’t I do that?”

We could show you each video individually but the joys of the internet mean that some kind soul has gone to the trouble of mashing all three dances together for your viewing pleasure.
