As you all know by now, Prince Charles the United Kingdom's son in waiting has been paying a visit to the Republic of Ireland and has chosen Connacht as his destination of choice. No doubt there is a whole lot going on in the West but that's not to say the rest of the Country hasn't got something to offer, not by a long shot.
Presenting the guide to Ireland for visiting royalty looking for a taste of real Ireland.
Busaras
What a magical place Busaras is, a tribute to the great buildings of the world. The national bus station may appear to be a dull soulless place but that's before your bus gets delayed and you get to spend some time with it. The friendliness of the staff is only bettered by the comfort of the seats as you try and count down the minutes until you step onto a vehicle with inexplicably strong heat blowing from all angles.
Fagans Pub, Drumcondra Road, Dublin
A mysterious place that no longer pulls the sort of crowd it used to, primarily because Bertie Ahern doesn't seem to drink Bass in public anymore. The northside boozer was the scene of some of the most outrageous photoshoots down the years and it would be a pity to miss out on Camilla downing a half pint of Bass.
The Ghost Estates Of Leitrim
Charles will of course know Leitrim from their 1994 All Ireland run which brought them to Dublin, what he won't know as none of his aides will tell him, is that the ghost estates around Drumshambo and Roosky are some of the best places to sit down and curse the Fianna Fail government of old. Ideally Charles could be pictured pumping up the tyre of a wheelbarrow or even answering the door of an unfinished mansion from the inside.
Unique Clothes Shop, Ilac Centre, Dublin
We are not fully sure if Unique still exists but if it does, there is a whole bunch of reasons for Prince Charles to take a detour on the way home and show how in tune he is with real life. Just trying to avoid the bargain leather goods is a feat in itself, no Marrakesh like souk negotiation needed here, the deals just jump out at you.
Niall Quinn's Old House in Naas
This is not just a house, but a bloody ranch. The mansion Niall and Gillian settled in on their return from England had it all, and we mean everything. A self playing piano, stables and even a a bloody talking parrot. Not knowing Prince Charles' football club of choice it's hard to say defininitively but for any fan of sport, a chance to walk around what once was the home of Niall Quinn, should never be turned up. A photocall with Charles giving Camilla a piggy back whilst both wearing full Ireland kits should really seal the deal.
Got any other suggestions, let us know in the comments below and we will get them to his people.
