The Water Meter Fairies are on the prowl and they could be coming to a town near you!
Groups of anti-water charges protesters are now actually removing meters under the cover of darkness and Eminem's chainsaw mask. Eight different 'water meter fairies' pages have been set up on Facebook, from places around Ireland such as Carlow, Clare, south Dublin, Skerries and Balbriggan.
Simply put, these fairies go around taking out meters which have been installed by Irish Water but when they're not busy at that, they spend their time making videos which wouldn't be out of place on Irish Pictorial Weekly.
This one gave me the best laugh I got all morning. You'd think he was holding an AK47!

When speaking to Independent.ie, a spokesperson for Irish Water said:
Under the Water Services Act 2007 it is a criminal offence for a person to remove, damage or impair the proper working of a meter.
A person who is convicted of such an offence is liable to a fine of up to €5,000, or imprisonment for a term of up to three months, or both.
Hopefully the lad in the first video gets a role in the Four Lions sequel. He's a natural.
