For the first time since Heath Ledger's posthumous Oscar-winning performance in 2008's The Dark Knight, The Joker makes his return to the big screen in Suicide Squad. And he's scaring the bejesus out of everybody once more.
A team of world class villains and psychopaths trying to save the world - what could possibly go wrong?
Starring Will Smith as Deadshot, a mesmerisingly deranged Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, the official Suicide Squad teaser trailer finishes with a rather ominous proclamation by Jared Leto's Joker, who says,
I’m not going to kill you. I’m just going to hurt you... really, really bad.
The song in the background isn't exactly a subtle nod to one of the great comic and film villains of all time, but it's enough to get the pulse racing. Speaking of which, you should see the bloody car he's driving.
Suicide Squad opens August 5, 2016, and - as the trailer suggests - will feature a cameo from Ben Affleck as Batman, just five months after Batman vs Superman hits cinemas worldwide. I wonder who he could possibly have a gripe with in this film?
