An Irish Nun Got Stuck In A Lift In Rome... For 3 Days!!

This is just crazy.

Reports from an Italian newspaper have explained how an Irish nun aged 58, and another nun from New Zealand aged 69, lived a very real nightmare when they became trapped in a faulty elevator for nearly three full days.

The nuns, who were guests of the Marist Sisters House in Rome, were taking the lift in the building when there was a power outage, and although they attempted to cry for help, their screams went unheard as there was nobody else in the building.

The women had no mobile phone on them, so were forced to sit and wait until a cleaner arrived on Monday and called the police when she heard no answer at the entrance to the complex. Police officers were then said to have entered the building, where they heard calls for help from the women who had been inside the lift with no food, water, or anything for nearly 72 hours.

Thankfully, and perhaps miraculously, both women are believed to be in good health despite being taken to hospital for dehydration. The women said they "prayed so much" during their ordeal, which we expect would have caused most people would have gone completely insane after about 45 minutes.

We're certainly going to be thinking twice the next time we take a lift.
