Deirdre O'Kane has touted the mouthwatering prospect of a Moone Boy movie, claiming the writers are hugely interested in the possibility.
While speaking to The Sunday World, O'Kane - who of course plays Debra Moone - said:
I don’t think we’ll ever see Moone Boy back on the telly but they [writers Chris O’Dowd and Nick Murphy] want to make the movie. So, I can see that happening.
Both Chris and Nick love the project so much. It’s their baby. I really do believe the movie will be made.
O'Kane seems as excited as anyone at the idea, saying:
I never say no to a movie. Working on Moone Boy is so much fun. I loved it all and the fact that the viewers loved it too means so much to us. So I would definitely be interested in working the movie.
Obviously this is nothing more than O'Kane's opinion at the moment but it would seem the lads are up for writing a movie script and given the success of the show, it's hard to see why the wouldn't do it.
