Well 2016 just keeps getting worse. Here we are after just coming to terms with the passing of David Bowie when news arrives that the legendary actor Alan Rickman has passed away, aged 69. According to the Guardian, Rickman died in London beside his family. Cancer was the cause of his death.
Rickman is one of the great character actors of the last 40 years. His most memorable roles were all as villains. You'll remember him, of course, as Snape from the Harry Potter movies.
Rickman not only played English villains. He also played the German Hans Gruber in Die Hard.
