There'll be a feel good movie made some day about the #hometovote story. This is contingent on the yes side winning of course. And Paddy Power has them at 4/5 to clear the 61.5% mark. A proper landslide in other words.
The Sunday Independent's Carol Hunt was in Bangkok yesterday afternoon but was determined to make it home to vote today. Her half-invocation of Molly Bloom gave a hint as to which box she intended to tick when she got here.
All packed & leaving gorgeous Bangkok to get home in time to vote in #MarRef #YesEquality She said yes...yes...yes pic.twitter.com/U43U0EGO9V

@carolmhunt First Q I asked when trip arranged. 'Can I get home in time to vote?' #MarRef #YesEquality — Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 21, 2015
Problems started early. We are not alleging that the Bangkok airport officials are partisans of the No side.
Delayed on the way home from Bangkok. Don't they know there's a referendum on!! #MarRef

By about nine o'clock, they were at the airport.

They arrived in Heathrow at about 10.00 this morning. It was too late for the flight they'd booked to Dublin.
Stuck in #Heathrow. Bangkok flight 2 hr delay so missed Dublin flight. @aerlinguscrew say no other seats available today. ideas? #hometovote
— Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 22, 2015
This was the low point.
checked everything - no flights at all anywhere.... stuck in London. #hometovote #crying — Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 22, 2015
A very drastic solution... A flight to Gatwick three hours before the polls close.
booking gatwick to belfast now instead - at 7 pm #hometovote
— Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 22, 2015
It's a real thriller movie now...
Thanks all - I'm now booked Gatwick to Belfast - arr 20.30 & speed to Dublin - hopefully get there before 9.59pm! #hometovote #YesEquality — Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 22, 2015
Some breathing room now. it's 5.00 instead of 7.00. Still a squeeze.
@DeirdreOKane1 I've got seat on 1700 from Gatwick to Belfast arr 8.29. OH driving to pick me up & fingers crossed @aerlinguscrew @AerLingus
— Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 22, 2015
Deirdre O'Kane made a timely intervention.
@DeirdreOKane1 I just did! & got it! Booked on the 1.25. Getting on now!! #hometovote @iwitteronandon @aerlinguscrew @AerLingus

Aer Lingus, not quite ditching impartiality, took much of the credit
@carolmhunt Carol, we're delighted to hear that you've got sorted!
— Aer Lingus (@AerLingus) May 22, 2015
With hours to spare.
@EvilJackeen have landed! Now where did I leave that voting card?! #YesEquality @DearbhailDibs
— Carol Hunt (@carolmhunt) May 22, 2015
Victory. To be honest the screen writers will jazz it up to ensure she gets there one second before 10.00pm but it was still quite a ride.
@HelenORahilly yes! She said 'yes'! #hometovote #YesEquality #phew #collapses pic.twitter.com/OCdD6BT2Yv
