Joyce Carol Oates is an American novelist that has been awarded a number of decent accolades in her 77 years on Planet Earth.
They include
- 2007: Humanist of the Year, American Humanist Association
- 1970: National Book Award for Fiction
- 2012: Norman Mailer Prize, Lifetime Achievement
and
Now these awards would suggest that the statement she made on twitter today, must, surely must be a joke. In the tweet, which still exists and has not since been referred to or explained, JCO led the calls for a change in conservation laws to stop the barbaric hunting of these creatures.
The problem was in the type of creature and the identity of its hunter, a somewhat known director by the name of Steven Speilberg.
