Actor Jim Carrey has spoken out for the first time about the death of his ex-girlfriend of less than a week, Tipperary woman Cathriona White, who reportedly took her own life in LA on Monday.
I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona,
the 53-year-old comedian told US Weekly. He continued:
She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.
My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.
Cathriona White's family released a media statement earlier yesterday about the death of their daughter.
The family of Cathriona White sincerely regret the untimely passing of their beloved daughter and sister. Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family. We will miss her terribly and at this difficult time we ask to be left in private to mourn our loss.
The 28-year-old beautician was originally from Cappawhite in Co. Tipperary. Naturally, the thoughts of everybody at The Sliced Pan go out to her family and friends.
